Heavy Hors D'oeuvres
Blackfinn Ameripub is a huge supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters nationally and couldn't resist the urge to cater our Fashion Show! They specialize in affordable, craveable American food in a high energy atmosphere!
PDQ, which stands for People Dedicated to Quality, is a fast causal restaurant specializing in fresh, never frozen, hand-battered chicken tenders. We can't want to snack on them during our Cocktail Hour!!
As if that wasn't enough food already, Zpizza will be serving up Hawaiian Pies to help set the mood! Zpizza believes in the best tasting food starts with ingredients that are naturally better for you!
Plenty of Refreshments
We'll also have two craft beers selections from Appalachian Mountain Brewery stocked!! AMB's mission is simple: sustainability, community and philanthropy! VIP ticket holders, which are almost sold out already, get to enjoy our signature Peachy Sangria! All guests may grab a glass of sangria for a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Hawaiian- Style Braid Bar
Twisted Scizzors hair stylists are continually trained and educated in the latest cutting , coloring, and styling techniques. The Salon, which loves to give back to the community and has won the Maggie Awards four years in a row, will be donating their time and skills for our resort-style, beach-inspired hair and make up for our runway models and staff.
Be sure to take advantage of getting styled by the Twisted Scizzors team at our Hawaiian-Style Braid Bar - open during our cocktail hour and after show shopping party. We encourage you to pick up a new hair accessory from Headbands of Hope before sitting down to get styled. For every headband purchased one is donated to a child with cancer. Truly pretty headbands with an even prettier cause!
All our models and staff have had their natural beauty enhanced by Amanda at Natural Esthetics. We're thrilled to welcome Natural Estehetics to Downtown Cary! Amanda opened her Skincare Boutique in January and has been in the industry for more than 15 years. All models have that Hawaiian, sun-kissed glow thanks to Amanda's organic airbrush tanning. She also specializes in facials, eyelash enhancements and waxing.
Aaron Damboise Photography will be capturing the whole night!! He has done many shoots with Twisted Scizzors Salon in addition to photography for Bob's Buddies with Lu and Bob Dumas. Aaron photographs every beautiful and heartwarming moment of the night with ease! Be sure to say Aloha to Aaron and get your picture taken at our Hula Wall!

About Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Triangle pairs carefully screened adult volunteers with children facing adversity in the Triangle. All matches are one to one and are closely monitored and supported throughout the match. Big Brothers Big Sisters asks that volunteers commit to at least one year.
- BBBST serves Wake, Durham and Orange Counties
- Goal is to serve 1,030 children in 2016
- 82% of our children are from a single parent home
- Over a ¼ of our children have a parent or loved one incarcerated
- Mentoring changes lives for good!
- Over 50% of children matched in our program show improvement in grades
- 33% have higher educational expectations after being matched with a mentor
- Children with mentors also improve their self-esteem, reduce risky behaviors, are less likely to begin using drugs or alcohol and much more
Money raised goes directly back to enrolling, matching and supporting Big & Little pairs. It costs over $1,200 a year to fund one match. Funds raised will help to support the Big and Little matches made by providing:
- monthly contacts with a match support specialist
- regular activities for matches to participate in such as yoga sessions, book club, back to school picnics, holiday parties
- BBBST hosts monthly STEM (science, technology, engineering & match) activities and workshops for all children enrolled in our program
